What a great live center. It will hold a drilled hole to atleast 1 and 9/16 inch dia. Smooth running and nice and big. Fit perfectly into my JET lathe for turning pepper grinders. And a great price to boot. If you are looking for a low costing live center, try this one. I'll be turning tomorrow.

This live center is almost too good to be true. It is heavy, cleanly machined, accurate, and crazy cheap. There are no drawbacks to this center (don't split your wood!).

Amazon is even cheaper than PSI's own website!

This is the second of this Live Center, the other lasted five plus years with much, much turning and switching out. Great heavy duty Center and well worth the money. If you do much turning, you know the value of good tools and this certainly falls into that category. When this one wears out, I'll just have to go for the same again.

Have used about 2 hours. Run smooth, no noise and a nice long taper. Watch out for point, it is as sharpe as a razor.

I ordered this live center for my son's lathe, only to find out it was the
wrong size (needed morse taper #1). The return process was extremely simple, and the one I bought to replace it was the same brand from a different vendor: bottom line is that I paid more money for essentially the same thing and I had to pay shipping on top of that. If Amazon would have carried the number 1 I could have simply exchanged it. I would definitely recommend this product if your tapers are sized for it.

I bought this for pen turning to prevent my other live centers from getting dulled. It is a nicely made live center, but I have to admit I have used it very little so I can't say how well it will hold up.

As received, the bearing was a bit rough, but smoothed right out after a few minutes turning. Only complaint is the softness of the steel....tools will cut it if not careful when working close to it, but this does not affect good performance of the center. Will buy another for second lathe.

This live tail center is very nicely made. However I am only giving it 3 stars because the bearing doesn't feel as smooth as it should. When you hold it in your hand and spin the head, you can feel an uneveness as it rotates around. There doesn't seem to be any play though. On the lathe it appears to work fine, but I would be happier if it was smooth rotating.
